Hannah Rae, AMFT
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Hannah Rae is a therapist with experience working with adolescents and adults navigating substance use disorders, eating disorders, and complex relational challenges. Her clinical approach is grounded in an attachment-based and relational framework, recognizing that many struggles with substances, food, and compulsive behaviors develop in response to unmet emotional needs, early relational experiences, and efforts to regulate distress.

Hannah has worked in intensive treatment settings and group therapy environments supporting clients with co-occurring concerns including anxiety, depression, family conflict, and identity development. She draws from an integrative therapeutic approach informed by psychodynamic theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, and harm reduction principles. Rather than focusing solely on symptom elimination, Hannah works collaboratively with clients to understand the underlying emotional and relational patterns that shape their experiences.

Her work emphasizes curiosity, compassion, and non-judgment. Hannah is particularly interested in helping clients explore internal working models of relationships, develop greater self-understanding, and cultivate more secure and supportive connections with themselves and others.

My Story
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time outdoors along the Santa Barbara coastline, hiking local trails, and engaging in creative outlets such as journaling and visual art. I have a deep love for animals and value the grounding and connection they bring to everyday life. I approach both my personal and professional life with curiosity, warmth, and a commitment to growth, and I am passionate about supporting others in developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful relationships.
