Lynn Kimathi, RPA

Psychological Associate

I am a Psychological Associate with a relational, culturally responsive, and integrative approach to therapy. My work draws from behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and depth-oriented frameworks, and is grounded in the belief that each person’s story is complex, layered, and deeply meaningful. I am committed to creating a warm, safe, and collaborative space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore and grow.

My clinical work integrates evidence-based interventions with psychodynamic exploration, mindfulness practices, and cultural context, allowing me to tailor treatment to the unique needs, histories, and identities of each individual. I am particularly interested in how unconscious dynamics, early experiences, and cultural identity shape psychological life, and I bring a nuanced awareness of how migration, cultural transition, and systemic factors influence mental health and personal meaning.

My Story

I completed my Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (PsyD) at Pacifica Graduate Institute. I was the first certified International Behavior Analyst in Kenya, where I helped develop behavioral programs for children with autism and developmental disabilities.

My clinical experience includes providing individual therapy to young adults at Westmont College, conducting behavioral assessments and intervention planning, and training and supervising ABA therapists. I have also worked in early childhood mental health consultation at CALM, supporting the implementation of trauma-informed practices for parents, teachers, and childcare providers.
