OpenMinds is a non-profit outpatient mental health clinic devoted to serving the Santa Barbara community. We specialize in providing expert care for adolescents and young adults dealing with a variety of mental health issues. Our comprehensive services encompass individual, family, and group therapy, along with psychological and neuropsychological evaluations. Our approach revolves around client-centered, culturally competent, and evidence-based care, ensuring the highest standards in our services. At OpenMinds, our main goal is to deliver inclusive and accessible mental health services and to improve overall access to this support for youth in our community. To achieve this, we are in-network with a number of private insurance carriers, offer a sliding scale, and are working towards obtaining grant funding.Â
Job Overview:
OpenMinds is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Psychologist to join our dynamic team. This position focuses on psychological and psychoeducational assessments with adolescents and young adults, ages 12-25. Typical assessments include ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning differences, and other conditions affecting daily functioning, such as intellectual disabilities and giftedness, and emotional disorders. While experience in these areas is preferred, training on a variety of assessment measures, report writing techniques, and therapeutic assessment and feedback will also be offered . You will also manage a small therapy caseload of adolescent and young adult clients. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a supportive team, receive supervision from two licensed psychologists, and enjoy a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
Conducting psychological and psychoeducational assessments with adolescents and young adults.
Contributing to the development and enhancement of assessment protocols and procedures.
Collaborating with families, caregivers, and relevant providers to support overall client well-being.
Providing evidence-based individual therapy to a caseload of 5-10 therapy clients.
Participating in agency meetings, training sessions, consultations, and supervision meetings.
Maintaining accurate and confidential clinical records in our EHR system, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Accurately inputting relevant CPT codes for insurance billing.
Staying updated with best practices and advancements in the mental health field.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology
Must obtain registration with the Board of Psychology (BOP) as a Psychological Associate
Experience in conducting psychological and psychoeducational assessments, specifically with adolescents and young adults. Examples of tests include: WISC-V, WAIS-IV, WJ-IV Tests of Achievement, D-KEFS, NEPSY-II, ADOS-2, etc.
Experience assessing ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or learning differences preferred Â
Experience with report writing preferred
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, and knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Bilingual and bicultural skills are a plus
Experience with LGBTQ+ populations is a plus
